Barbara H. Gold, LCSW, is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker in practice since 1983. She is also certified as a psychoanalyst for adults, a couples therapist and a supervisor. Using a variety of techniques, she works actively to assist her patients with current difficulties. She views therapy as a partnership between patient and therapist.
She has had considerable experience treating adults with a wide range of personal and professional difficulties. She works to help her patients better understand themselves and others with whom they have difficulties and to develop better coping skills. With couples, she assists the partners with conflict resolution concerning differences in emotional needs, expectation and parenting styles, and difficulties with empathy and management of bad feelings.
In addition to being a clinician, Barbara is a supervisor and faculty member at a psychoanalytic institute. She was an editor of a professional newsle1ter and has had several journal articles published.
